“To the man who
suffers from jaundice every image is jaundiced”
Peace be upon you.
Have you seen a man so positive and optimistic about life? I
will show you a man who sees problem for every solution. I will show you a man
who has been defeated by the albums he has saved about life and goes about
educating others on how to be defeated. When our leaders complain about poor
medical facilities and still go abroad for medical examination, clearly
explains this position.
Do you have a journey that needs to be embarked on? Move
speedily, because life is not about exodus but entry. Not about looking
backwards but moving forward and having an image of possibilities about how
tomorrow will be better than the “good old days”. The problem is not about traveling but arriving, not about dreaming but backing it up with concrete
actions. What are the variables that form the basis of your opinions? On what
pedestal of convictions are you convinced? The contention is not about the
images that conjures up to you through events of personal experiences but the
interpretation such events represents in your life.
In your journey, you will find examples of people who will
tell you that they have travelled the entire world over but have never learnt
how to arrive by offering answers towards helping a man in need. The question is not about traveling, but about
the nature of images you are traveling with? It is about the sympathy and
empathy towards your fellow being and not about revenge and viciousness directed
towards them.
It is about seeing bright spots in very dark circumstances. It
is about casting down probability images with possibility images. It is about casting
down barriers of prejudices built up in our hearts. It is about wronging the wrong
images already conjured up in our mind over the years that were inimical to
your survival. The answer is not about traveling but the renewal of your
mindset. Bob Marley advised that we must “emancipate our self from mental
slavery none but our self can free our minds “. You cannot free your mind when
the wrong images have been clogged up there.
The road will not always be linear. The images will not always
be beautiful even if technology has enabled us to reduce noise on photo images.
It’s not about noise reduction in the images but silencing the noise in our
souls to hear the little things that require to be done, the little errands
that requires to be fulfilled, the hunger that needs to be eradicated, the jobs
that needs to be done, the productive policies that needs to be enabled.
Nevertheless, you are at liberty to explore life to its
greatest pinnacle and echelons or to dive down into the lowest ebb with the
nature of images you build up in your mind. It is not about seeing the big pictures
that needs to be captured but the little actions we can capture now to have a
better image of the world.
Ask about Kevin Carter and you will understand what the image
he captured did to him.
Peace be with you
