MINUTES OF THE MEETING ON NIGERIA’S DEVELOPMENT TRAJECTORY. BY CHIBU NDUBUISI

MINUTES OF THE MEETING ON NIGERIA’S DEVELOPMENT TRAJECTORY CHIBU NDUBUISI 29/05/2017 Peace be to you. The purpose of minute taking is to record action plans agreed to be implemented. Minutes helps explain to us, people responsible for certain actions to be executed within a given time frame. It equally provides details of agreed action plan to those who were not present to enable them know how certain decisions were arrived at. At what meeting, did we agree to live as one entity called Nigeria? Who presided over that meeting? Who were those in attendance of the said meeting? To answer the following question lets go through the agenda for the day. We are aware that • The president jetted out of the country because he does not believe in the medical institutions of the country he rules. • All policy documents geared towards moving Nigeria out of poverty has exacerbated poverty and displacement of the people.eg removing sub

WHEN YOU LEAVE THAT POSITION - A WARNING TO OUR LEADERS. -Kayode OLAGUNJU (PhD)

WHEN YOU LEAVE THAT POSITION - A WARNING TO OUR LEADERS . -Kayode OLAGUNJU (PhD) Assistant Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria. I was motivated to write this piece after going through "The Ceramic Cup", an experience of a former United State Under Secretary, culled from "Leaders Eat Last" by Simon Sinek, incidentally sent to me by an about retiring senior colleague. The ex-under Secretary compared his experiences when he attended a conference while in office and after leaving the office. He relayed his varying encounters at a large conference. He told the audience that he came to the last conference in business class with someone waiting for him at the airport. The protocol team arranged to pick him up to the hotel and had been checked in before his arrival. His room key was handed over to him and was escorted to the room. The second day, somebody was downstairs waiting for him and a vehicle was arranged to pick him to the venue. At the confer

CRITICAL JUNCTURE

CRITICAL JUNCTURE                                   CHIBU NDUBUISI 22/05/2017 Peace be to you. In their book “Why Nations Fail” Acemoglu D&  Robinson J, defines ‘Critical juncture’  ‘as a major event or confluence of factors disrupting the existing balance in a society, a double edged sword that can cause a sharp turn in the trajectory of a nation’. The French revolution, the Glorious revolution, the Second World War and Nigeria’s independence in 1960 were all critical junctures that defined the different states and the trajectory they followed. Critical junctures helps in erosion of barriers. The ‘Berlin Wall’ eroded to pave way for inclusion. The ‘Born Again’ phenomenon is a critical juncture for Christians to repent from old ways and give their lives to Jesus Christ. It is a point that takes you to the Promised Land or desolate land based on the decisions you make at that juncture. A point when the monster of underdevelopment is crus

THE FEEDING BOTTLE NATION

THE FEEDING BOTTLE NATION                                           BY CHIBU NDUBUISI 15/05/2017 Peace be to you. Feeding bottle is used to feed infants because they are yet to develop the capacity to feed themselves. It is designed in such a way that the feed tickles down to the dependent infant. An infant that uses feeding bottle does not understand what it takes to make the feed, but the parent or guardian are hopeful that one day the infant will grow up and begin to feed him/herself. When this scenario does not play out as expected, then we assume that there is a problem. As illustrated above, so it is with the country Nigeria, The nation set out on high hopes and high speed to the promised land with the proverbial "milk and honey" but failed to realise that no matter how fast you  move on the wrong path, it is still a wrong path. After 57 years of political independence, Nigeria is still a toddler, an overgrown baby,

RESIST ARREST

RESIST ARREST                                                   CHIBU NDUBUISI 08/2017 Peace be to you. To resist anything requires knowledge and courage not to give in or yield to antics of entanglement. Captivity stifles and limits.  Captivity is not only when you are holed up in a physical place, it is more than that.  Some have developed  life patterns that resist unhealthy, unproductive and needless distractions which stares at us on a daily basis, by the choices they made, they resisted arrest. while some just flow with the current passively and are arrested by ldeas that have fractured the world.  Eighty two(82) Chibok girls were released from captivity by Boko Haram terrorist organisation in a prisoner swap deal yesterday(7/5/2017). The negotiating teams had a noble obligation of  making sure that no matter the provocations, human life matters.   That human life must be protected and provided for at all cost. They
