RESIST ARREST

                                                        RESIST ARREST
                                                  CHIBU NDUBUISI 08/2017
Peace be to you.
To resist anything requires knowledge and courage not to give in or yield to antics of entanglement. Captivity stifles and limits.  Captivity is not only when you are holed up in a physical place, it is more than that.  Some have developed  life patterns that resist unhealthy, unproductive and needless distractions which stares at us on a daily basis, by the choices they made, they resisted arrest. while some just flow with the current passively and are arrested by ldeas that have fractured the world.
Eighty two(82) Chibok girls were released from captivity by Boko Haram terrorist organisation in a prisoner swap deal yesterday(7/5/2017). The negotiating teams had a noble obligation of  making sure that no matter the provocations, human life matters.   That human life must be protected and provided for at all cost. They negotiated even with the devil. Why can't Nigeria learn to negotiate with its own people?
Ideas have consequences, as we navigate this terrain, we are presented with many ideas each believing in the potency of its prognostications. But it is only in a question of time that the truths are laid bare. Each idea comes with its hooks and tentacles looking for people who can adhere to its tenets and the entanglements begins.
The Swiss government, the Red Cross and Boko Haram all stand on different pedestals of engagements.  While some want to build, some want to destroy.  While some want to heal, some want to harm.  While some want to better our world some are committed to perpetually destroying it. This is equally how some government policies work. Some policies create riches while some entrench poverty. While some promote education some promote illiteracy. While some nations take care of their doctors, we allow our own doctors to go on strike and the masses die carelessly, and the leaders go to other countries for medical attention even when they have common headache. But their is a solution.
How can we resist arrest of  unproductivity and entanglements? An advise from Bishop Desmond Tutu that " we must not allow ourselves to become like the system we oppose" by not yeilding to antics of populism. " if a million people hold a dumb idea it is still a dumb idea"
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kalu satisfied a very terrible bail condition presented to him by the government, but one thing is clear, in as much as oppression continues in the system Biafra as an idea will continue to flourish. Nigeria, even after the physical conquest of Biafra, cant  even conquer them on the pedestal of ideas because the realities of marginalisation stare cleary at everyone.
To resist arrest is to guard consciously your WILL to meaning. Even if you are incarcerated, denied your rights, captured like the Chibok girls,  you still have a WILL to meaning.  Dont let that WILL down. Dont cooperate with anything humiliating. May our daughters never  go through this humiliating experience  again. Please Nigeria, keep negotiating for the remaining girls, they will become mothers and as we all know,"motherhood is universal and fatherhood rare".
Peace be with you.
