WORKING FOR THE FUTURE WE WILL NEVER SEE      © 2018       CHIBU NDUBUISI                       30/08/2018     WEEK 35 “Oh, I often sit and ponder when the sun is sinking low, where shall yonder future find me? -- Shall I be among the living? Shall I mingle with the free?   Jennie Stout Peace be upon you. Jonathan Sacks averred that “There are rivers we will not cross, promised lands we will not enter, future we helped shape that we will not live see”. The world of today is not as a result of our singular effort. So much effort were put in by others who never lived to witness the manifestation of their dreams but believed that one day their little efforts would count towards making the world a better place. Hence, the track Heal the World by Michael Jackson, advises us to “ “Heal the world , Make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race ”.  Some missionaries died in Africa as a resu

SELECTIVE IGNORANCE: A PANACEA (C)   2018              CHIBU NDUBUISI        24/08/2018      WEEK 34       “It is difficult to make a difference if you are constantly in despair”                     Peace be upon you. An online dictionary defines selective ignorance as the practice of selectively ignoring distracting, irrelevant, or otherwise unnecessary information received. Selective ignorance is about ignoring some philosophies, life styles and accepting your ignorance of not paying attention to them. We normally hear about the cliché “No knowledge is a waste”. I want to gladly inform you that in this age of “narrow casting" rather than broadcasting so many information we process are indeed useless and not worth our attention.  Why do we tend to look for information that confirms our biases, while ignoring those that shows us light?                     RITUALS & LOVE (C) 2018                          CHIBU NDUBUISI            15/08/2018      WEEK 33         If you seek to make love undying build around it a structure of rituals                                     Jonathan Sacks                                     Peace be upon you. What you love to do becomes a ritual. When you pray, exercise, read, write, share your heart and meditate on a continuous flow, it becomes a ritual. Life is sustained by a series of rituals. Love is sustained by a series of rituals. Family cohesion is sustained by a series of rituals. So also, is hate is sustained by a series of rituals passed from one generation to the other. Antisemitism is a clear example of a hate ritual that has endured ages. It eventually led to Hitler almost exterminating a race. We have rituals of loyalty, rituals of betrayals, rituals of transitions to other phases of life, rituals of denial, rituals of defiance against tyranny

Failure you may still encounter at the thousandth step”                                            O G MANDINO                        Peace be upon you. Gestation period of animals can be accurately predicted. Seed time and harvest time of crops can be perfectly predicted. But the success hour of man cannot be predicted with certainty.  The factors that influences man’s journey is not made to him as he contemplates on what step to take but is revealed to him as he plunges in to actions that will help lay out the details as earlier contemplated.  Someone wrote that “We live life forward but we understand it backwards”. If I had know that all the pains, heartaches that I had been made to pass through was to strengthen me on what lies ahead the N
