UNIFORM EGO: HOW TO DRIVE THAT EGO DOWN

“Don’t do what you wouldn’t feel comfortable reading about in the newspaper the next day”. John

Peace be upon you.
Today’s post is dedicated to military and Para-military officials who in the discharge of their duties fail to follow the rules of engagement. They become inconsiderate and carry on their duties with a character of uppity and disdain for others not in their folk. The UNIFORM gives them the aura of invincibility and importance devoid of accountability and decorum.
In Nigeria, there is no doubt that Uniform men are the principal law breakers. The break traffic rules at random, they intimidate you on the road through extortion. They involve in human trafficking, armed robbery and collaborate with high criminals as we have witnessed with many examples as in the case of the Billionaire kidnapper “Evans”.
Our problem in Nigeria has a behavioral dimension. Odd political behaviour, odd economic behaviour, odd religious behaviour, reckless driving behaviour and the UNIFORM men are not left out in this oddity of strange behaviours.
One final word, antagonizing people alienates you. Adding value to others adds value to you. Use your job to be a blessing others and you will realize that the job has been a blessing to you. When you use the job to be a curse to others you will equally discover that the job has been a curse to you. The mind that coordinates the activities of violence can coordinate the activities of cooperation.
We must not strive for safety at the expense of other people’s safety or project our expenditures at the expense of another person’s budget.
Peace be with you.
