                                         STORMS

Peace be with you.

“The gem cannot be polished without frictions nor man without trials” Conficius

I recently sent an SMS to a relative of mine, who has been a source of wild storm to his family and a conduit pipe were hard earned resources are filtered out without any commensurate impact, considering low funds, and the high debts we are experiencing in Nigeria. His family members keep hoping that one day, the storm will be over and the tide will turn for good.

In my SMS, I told him that “ A life of disobedience will keep you in the wilderness. Keep in mind that time is passing by. You are on your way to becoming a very poor man if you don't change your wrong thinking. Last warning to you to wake up and pursue your destiny with pride and dignity.”

Even if your pathway is stormy, it does not mean you are entirely out of the track of achieving your destiny. At most, it can be the best message you need at that material time to know how to become wiser and better informed regarding some routes you must ply along life’s path.

In the book “From Poverty to Power’ James Allen, teaches us about “The lesson of Evil” he averred that; ‘
There is no heart in all the world that has not felt the sting of pain, no mind that has not been tossed upon the dark waters of trouble, no eyes that has not wept the hot, blinding tears of unspeakable anguish. There is no household where the great destroyers, disease and death, have not entered, severing heart from heart and casting over all the dark pall of sorrow’.

Just because our path is stormy in Nigeria at this moment does not mean that Nigerians are not learning how to make better electoral choices. We are becoming wiser but we must ensure that “we don’t repeat the same mistake over and over expecting different result” because it is the definition of insanity.

I will be ending this weeks essay with some lines from R Kelly's hit track “Storm is Over”
But then I climbed the hills
And saw the mountains
I hollered help 'cause
I was lost
Then I felt the strong wind
Heard a small voice sayin'
The storm is over
The storm is over now
And I can see the sunshine
Somewhere beyond
the clouds
I feel Heaven yeah
Heaven is over me
Come on and set me free

Peace be upon you.
